Prayers for May

Erith Deanery

Give thanks for
· our clergy who have been finding ways to use online technology to hold services and otherwise to reach out to the members of their churches during this difficult time
· the people within and from outside our church communities who have connected with online worship, prayers and reflections, especially over the Easter period
· those who have continued to work, especially all in the NHS and the emergency services and those who enable us to have food and other essentials

Belvedere, St Augustine of Canterbury
Pray for
· our partner Diocese of Harare, Zimbabwe and their Bishop, Right Reverend Dr Farai Mutamiri
· our partner parish of St Mary, Chitungwiza, Harare, their faithful people and priests, Father Norman and Father Wisdom

Bexleyheath, Christ Church
Pray for
· the residents and staff in the care homes in our parish, Parkview, Maples and Adelaide, that our Anna Chaplaincy team may soon be able to renew visiting
· the care groups we have established for this difficult time, helping us to maintain contact with our church family

Crayford, St Paulinus
Pray for
· our Prayer Partners, that they may they be encouraged to pray together while we are unable to join together at church
· our church and congregation, especially those that have died recently and their families and for the up and coming funerals
· the new buddying system as we develop how we can come together as one body at this time of physical separation
· the Sunday School leaders and the children and families of congregation and the parish

Welling, St John the Evangelist
Give thanks for
· our growing fellowship and friendship with St John, Erith following our Vicar, Adam Foot, becoming their Priest-in-charge
· being able to use many different online ways of maintaining individual, group and whole church contact when face to face is not possible
· the completion of the Alpha course remotely, enabling the guests to grow in their faith even in such difficult times
· our Youth Worker Linzi Golding’s amazing ability to link up with our younger members and their families and provide great resources to encourage and help their faith to grow
Pray that
· we may continue to find ways of reaching out and caring for those unable to meet and worship remotely
· that during this crisis, many people in our community, and everywhere, will use the time to explore faith in Jesus
