Advent is the beginning of the liturgical calendar and is the 4 Sunday’s leading up to Christmas.

It is a time for reflection and hope as we approach Christ’s arrival.

On this page please find prayers and activities to help us enjoy this season, even though we may not be able to do what we would like, to remember those who may be less fortunate than us.

There is a weekly reflection for Advent beginning with Canon Gordon Giles:

Decorate St Paulinus Churchyard

As we cannot all meet together as we normally do at this time of year we are inviting you to create your own Christmas decoration to hang on a tree in the churchyard.

We are allocating trees to our local schools and congregation and there will be signs attached to the trees.

Use your imagine, up cycle, recycle, the just need to survive the weather.  Why not try painting a pine cone.

We look forward to seeing your creations.

You could also make an angel to hang on the Christmas tree
